Baldwin Inn

Bed & Breakfast

Full Description

Since opening for business in September 2006, the Inn has been winning accolades. It has been prominently featured in “Time Out” and “Lonely Planet” travel guidebooks, and has been chosen as one of the Top 10 Toronto Hotels by The Guardian, a London (U.K.) based newspaper.

Originally built in 1880, the Inn was extensively renovated, combining the perfect blend of century heritage and modern living. The exterior architecture includes ironworks, lighting, and window shutters in the Provence style, providing a warm and inviting escape reminiscent of European country elegance. The interiors are furnished in the contemporary style, bringing modern conveniences to the guest rooms and common areas. Outdoor spaces in the spring, summer and fall include a second floor balcony, a private courtyard, a south facing garden, and a fun street-front patio.

The Inn is a short walk to subway and streetcar services, including the 501 Queen Streetcar Line that has been named as one of the world’s top 10 trolley rides by National Geographic showcasing “lively downtown Toronto”.

For visiting academics and conference attendees, we are a short 5-10 minute walk to the University of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Ontario College of Arts and Design, as well as the University Network Hospitals (Mt. Sinai Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto General Hospital); and within a 20 minute walk to the Toronto Metro Convention Centre.

We have a small number of rooms, providing our guests with privacy, and a warm, friendly and home-style stay. Your hosts, Roger and Tess, are available on the premises to satisfy your needs. Contact us by telephone or e-mail. We will be happy to help you with your reservations today.
